Former area coach charged with sexual assault arrested again

THORP - A former area coach charged with sexually assaulting a student has been arrested again. 

Scott Bergman was an assistant track coach at Thorp High School. He was charged in February with having a sexual relationship with a 17-year old student. Bergman is 43.

He was released from jail last month with orders not to have any contact or communication with the girl. But over the weekend the two allegedly exchanged e-mails talking about their love for each other and having sex.

Police also learned they planned to meet at a church to be with each other. Bergman was arrested Wednesday night at the church after they were spotted together.

Police say he told them he was there to give her an Easter basket. Charges of felony bail jumping were filed today against Bergman.
