La Crosse PD welcomes 4 new officers


La Crosse, WI (WXOW) The La Crosse police department is proud to announce four new officers have joined their ranks.

Officers Alex Burg, Dustin Darling, Tyler Rachwal, and Chelsey Wagner took the oath of duty at a swearing in ceremony at city hall Friday morning.

Officer Darling says he's wanted to be a police officer since he was a young boy. He's looking forward to making a difference in the la crosse community.

Officer Alex Burg applied to work under Chief Ron Tischer with the chief was with the Waukesha police department. Alex didn't' get that job, but says he's it worked out. He was born in La Crosse and is excited to be working in his hometown under Chief Tischer.

The four officers won't patrol La Crosse immediately. They must compete weeks of classroom training and work with a veteran officer before they hit the streets on their own.
