LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Saint Patrick's Day is coming up March 16.

The La Crosse Police Department asks that you start planning now to stay safe.

"If you are going to be out and indulging in alcoholic beverages, be safe about it. Use designated drivers. In the La Crosse area, there's plenty of taxi cabs that you can call," Sgt. Randy Rank said.

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation is launching a new "drive sober" app for smart phones.

A free download of the app is available online by visiting www.zeroinwisconsin.gov.
