NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland (WXOW) - The third and final day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference is underway March 16 in National Harbor, Maryland.
Leading Republicans, including possible presidential candidates in 2016, gather at C-PAC every year.
GOP Governor Scott Walker took to the podium, one of the final round of speakers.
Walker explained why he decided against expanding Medicaid in Wisconsin:
"When we made our decision about Medicaid, not to take the Medicaid expansion, we didn't do it in a vacuum between a yes or no proposition. In my state I said I want to reduce the number of people who are uninsured, but I also want to reduce the number of people who are on Medicaid because I want more people in the market. I want more people in the market cause they have jobs and opportunity because that means freedom and prosperity, not more government dependence," Walker said.
