Police Uncover Cockfighting Ring


LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- A La Crosse man faces charges of organizing a cock fighting ring.

After receiving an anonymous tip, officers searched two properties in the Town of Holland and recovered more than 40 injured birds.

Officers also found a ring used for the fights, with blood and feathers providing evidence of what went on there.

Animal control removed the more than 40 birds from the two properties. Police arrested one of the property owners, 54-year-old Nhia Vang. He faces charges of instigating fights between animals and training and keeping animals for fighting.

According to the report there are two other suspects and more arrests are possible.
