LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- A judge ordered a trial for Michael Vang, one of the three men charged in a drive by shooting in La Crosse last month. The ruling came after at a preliminary hearing Friday.
Police arrested 27-year-old Vang and two others after someone fired two rounds into a home on Kane Street. No one was injured..
During Friday's hearing, police testified that the shooting followed a dispute over drugs and the vehicle used was stolen.
"He did state that when they were driving back toward that area earlier in the evening that a male, later identified as Cody Branter, had told him that the vehicle was stolen," testified Andrew Tolvstad, an officer with the La Crosse Police Department.
Vang pleaded not guilty to all charges. His next court appearance is May 7. He remains in jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
