LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- The Shamrock Club, a 40 year old organization that celebrates Irish heritage in La Crosse.
The club participated in the St. Patrick's Day parade Saturday. They also do community service projects, visit nursing homes and raising money for area events. And, they are active all year round not just on St. Patty's day.
"You don't have to be Irish. It's a lot of fun, it's an enjoyable organization, we do fundraising," said Victoria Hampe, a member of the Shamrock Club.
"We are a community service club," Terry Nolan, another member of the club. "We help the city of La Crosse in other various functions. We are active participants in Oktoberfest and Mardi Gras and anything else the city might want or need help, we are here to help."
