LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A preliminary hearing Monday for a French Island man charged in connection with the manufacture and sale of methamphetamine.
Judge Ramona Gonzales found probable cause for a trial. The judge entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Ricky Lee Arentz on the counts of manufacturing methamphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Officer Adam Breidel of the Town of Campbell Police testified today about what he found when called to the suspect's residence.
Officer Breidel said, "We located several different items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. We located what was actual, what was later determined to be meth in two different locations, methamphetamine. And then we located, a shake and bake method type of meth lab, if you will, under the sink."
The judge ordered the case to be set for internal review within 45 days. If there is no settlement the case will go to trial.
