La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) ------ If you need some motivation to keep that New Years resolution, consider the story of Shane Harn of La Crosse. He's making dramatic progress on his road to better health. He's among those taking part in a program called The Biggest Health Challenge-La Crosse that started in February.
It's an 8-week program put on by the La Crosse County Health Department to challenge people to meet their health goals.
Shane Harn is a 38 year old father of 2 who says he was tired of living. He had so many health issues that he was unable to work. He developed severe sleep apnea and eventually couldn't drive because he would fall asleep without warning. A friend told him about the challenge and now he says he's optimistic about his future.
Nutritionists say that all of us can see results without joining a gym. They say if you walk 30 minutes at least 3 times a week you'll be doing yourself a favor. And also, they said when putting your meal together keep in mind that half of our plate should be filled with fruits and vegetables.
