WEST SALEM, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A happy reunion following a house fire in West Salem Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly before 2 p.m., volunteer firefighters were sent to 106 East Garland Street for a report of smoke coming from the duplex.
No one was in the duplex when the fire broke out except a small black dog. Firefighters were able to rescue the dog, who was understandably happy to see its owner once it was safely outside.
A department spokesperson tells WXOW there was heat damage to the building, but the fire was contained to a kitchen area, but haven't pinpointed the exact cause yet.
