New life on Houston owl webcam

HOUSTON, Minnesota (WXOW) -- There are new signs of life in an owl nest today.

A third Great Horned Owlet is due to hatch Thursday, joining a first owlet that hatched last Friday and another on Sunday.

The little owls are coming into the world in a nest at the International Owl Center in Houston.

Iris the Owl laid the owlet eggs the second week of February. They take about 33 days to hatch.

Iris and her partner Rusty are wild owls and need their privacy to breed, so they are housed on private property in rural Houston.

But people from around the world watch their daily lives on the video stream from the Owl Center's website.
