Klobuchar forum to focus on credit report errors

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar is searching out problems with consumer credit reports in her bid to get rating agencies to be more accurate.

The Democratic senator planned to convene a roundtable Sunday to hear from Minnesota residents who have discovered errors in their credit reports. Such problems have drawn the attention of lawmakers because mortgages and other loan terms often hinge on a person's credit score.

Klobuchar's forum is part of her campaign to get the major credit rating agencies to make fixes that aim to cut down on errors.

Aside from Klobuchar and affected residents, financial counselors were due to be on hand for the forum at Lutheran Social Services in Minneapolis.
