Mayors nationwide push senators to back gun control

MADISON (WKOW) -- Mayors nationwide are holding events Thursday to pressure elected officials to support federal gun control legislation.

Saturday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a new $12 million television ad campaign from 'Mayors Against Illegal Guns.' The New York Times reports Bloomberg is financing the campaign. He's the group's co-chair.

Thursday afternoon, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin will hold a press conference in reference to action on guns.
