Winona State's season ended by West Liberty

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WXOW) -- Winona State returned to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight with high expectations, but the Warriors went home empty-handed after a 110-84 loss to No. 1 West Liberty.
After a fairly back-and-forth first half, West Liberty began to pull away in the second. Cedric Harris led the way for the Hilltoppers with 23 points and five assists. The Warriors' leading scorer, Taylor Cameron, could only muster 18 points.
All-American senior Clayton Vette added 14 points before fouling late in the game. Vette finished his career at WSU with 1,750 points, sixth in school history.
West Liberty averaged 103 points on the season and trumped that with Thursday's 110-point performance. That's the highest point total allowed by a Winona State team in the NCAA Tournament.
The Warriors end this years' campaign at 27-8 and have won more than 20 games in nine consecutive years.
