Milwaukee body in river is missing student

MILWAUKEE (AP) - An autopsy has confirmed the body found in the river in downtown Milwaukee is that of a college student who went missing on New Year's Day.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said Friday the deceased is 24-year-old Nick Wilcox, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student.

Family and friends had posted flyers about the Wilcox in the downtown area and had searched for him since he disappeared celebrating the New Year on Old World 3rd St.


MILWAUKEE (AP) - An autopsy is expected to determine the identity of a body pulled from the river in downtown Milwaukee not far from where a college student went missing on New Year's Day.

Milwaukee police say the body had been in the Milwaukee River for several months. Family and friends have posted flyers about the missing University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student in the downtown area and have searched for him. Twenty-4-year-old Nick Wilcox was last seen at a bar near where the body was found Thursday.

WTMJ radio reports autopsy results are expected later Friday.
