Wisconsin FB's 1st Outdoor Practice This Spring

Madison (WXOW) -- The weather in Madison is fairly pleasant Wednesday, and Camp Randall Stadium has a turf field...two reasons why the Wisconsin football team practices outdoors for the first time this spring.

The Badgers are running a 3-4 defensive scheme under first-year head coach Gary Andersen.  Despite the change, the Wisconsin defense dominated practice against the offense.  Players say being outside brought some extra energy to practice.

"It's great," says Badgers senior linebacker Chris Borland, "I mean, we're missing a scoreboard, but the weather is nice enough for us to be out here, and it's great to be back in Camp Randall."

Wisconsin senior safety Dezmen Southward says, "I'm still from south Florida, so it's a little cold out here for me, I don't care what any of these guys say. but it's nice to be back out on our field. it's definitely a different feeling to be out here then to be inside."

Wisconsin's Saturday practice will be open to the public, as will the Badgers' practice on Friday, April 12th.  The Badgers spring game is set for Saturday, April 20, at 4:00 P.M.
