MANKATO, Minnesota (WXOW) -- La Crescent native Eriah Hayes had better keep his skates sharp and skills sharper. He's going to need them when he hits the ice in hockey's big leagues.
On Friday, Hayes reportedly signed a two-year free-agent contract with the San Jose Sharks.
TSN's Bob McKenzie reported it's a two-way, two-year deal for the 24-year-old Minnesota State-Makato forward. He scored 20 goals this past season for the Mavericks, leading them to both the WCHA and NCAA tournaments.
Hayes will reportedly join the Sharks' AHL affiliate in Worcester, Massachusetts on Saturday.
