Packers take on 49ers in regular season opener

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Green Bay Packers start the 2013 regular season against the team that ended their playoff run last year.

The Packers season begins on September 8 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers downed Green Bay 45-31 in a divisional playoff game January 12 in San Francisco.  The team eventually went to the Super Bowl only to lose to the Baltimore Ravens. The Packers play the defending Super Bowl champs in Baltimore on October 13.

Green Bay's home opener is the following Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

Divisional play gets underway on October 6 versus the Detroit Lions.  The Packers go primetime on Sunday night on October 27 with the Minnesota Vikings. The team finishes the regular season in Chicago on December 29.
