LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – With the weather getting warmer and trees coming into bloom, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism is encouraging residents to explore the beauty of Western Wisconsin.
DOT spokesperson Danielle Johnson says if you enjoy the outdoors, visit the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.
"Now this is an outdoor lovers paradise," Johnson said. "It's 1.5 million acres of pristine woods and waters, there are over 800 miles of hiking trails, and you can bike, and boat, and fish, and camp, and just really get outside and enjoy some fresh air."
