LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – The UW-L campus is one step closer to a tobacco-free campus.
On April 16, students voted in favor of the Nobacco '13 initiative.
Organizers are now waiting for the Academic Staff Council, Classified Staff Advisory Council, and the Faculty Senate to cast their vote.
If all the groups approve the proposal, the UW-L campus will be tobacco-free by July 1.
Current law requires smokers to stand at least 25 feet away from school buildings.
