LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca said he hasn't given serious thought to challenging Scott Walker for the governorship next year.
Barca (D-Kenosha) stopped in La Crosse Monday to speak against the Governor's proposed increase in funding to voucher schools. Walker pitched the idea in his 2014/15 budget, which is now being reviewed by the legislature's joint finance committee.
"I'm totally focused on the next two months and on getting this budget changed in a manner more in-line with Wisconsin values," Barca said.
"After that, over the course of the summer and in the early fall we'll have many meetings with a lot of potential candidates and try to figure out who might be in the best position to run and represent the democratic party," Barca said.
