LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)— Eight high school seniors got help with higher education costs at a Kiwanis Club luncheon on Tuesday afternoon.
The club gave them a $300 scholarship to use for anything related to furthering their education.
High school administrators selected the students; the only requirement is that winners be good citizens and show leadership skills.
One of those seniors is Anna Sibenaller from Holmen High School.
"It means I don't have to put so much weight on my parent's shoulders," Sibenaller said. "They've done so much for me through out my whole life obviously. They've been so supportive so the fact I was able to get this and help them."
Sibenaller plans to attend the University of Minnesota to study theater and video production, after graduation.
