LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Five high school students from Thailand are visiting La Crosse.
They're here for two weeks as part of the Department of Public Instruction's Wisconsin International Sunrise Program. Those students participated in classes at Central High School Wednesday. Thursday, they deliver presentations at North Woods International School. This past Tuesday, they toured the UW-La Crosse.
"They get the chance to speak English 24/7. They get to speak it all day long and hear it all day long, so I think they're improving their language skills and they really get to learn American culture first hand by experiencing it," says Danette Tritch, who teaches English at Central High School.
This is La Crosse's third year participating in the exchange program.
