Eagles settle for split with Stout


La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  The UW-La Crosse baseball team split a doubleheader with UW-Stout Wednesday, winning game one 11-4 and losing game two 7-5.

Garrett Novinski led the way for the Eagles in game one.

He hit two home runs and knocked in four for UW-L.

The Eagles were also able to take advantage of 6 Blue Devils errors.

Joel Effertz tossed 7 innings for the Eagles and gave up 2 runs to pick up the win.

In game two, the Eagles scored 4 runs in the first to grab a 4-3 lead.

Then Stout scored 3 unearned runs in the 4th to seize control, on their way to the 7-5 decision.

The Eagles are now 8-9 in WIAC, 16-15 overall.
