Coulee Region Humane Society's "Love Knows No Age Limit" adoption event

Posted:

ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - In order to make sure our community knows that "Love has no age limit", Coulee Region Humane Society, Inc. (CRHS) is promoting the adoption of adult cats from May 3rd, through May 5th, 2013.  The promotion is an effort to raise awareness about the number of cats who are in need of a new home through adoption and the benefits of adopting an adult cat.

According to Elizabeth Meil, Development and Marketing Coordinator, "It is easier to assess the personality of an adult cat, to know whether you are adopting a lap cat or the life of the party.  Cats can easily live to be over 20 years old so by adopting an adult, you give an animal a second chance at life and still can share many years together."

Adoption fees for cats three years of age and older will be reduced by 50% for the promotion only.  All other regular adoption policies will remain in place.

As an open admission Humane Society, CRHS needs the support of the entire community to ensure that each animal available for adoption indeed finds a forever home.  Though adoption rates continue to increase each year, CRHS has not yet reached 100% placement of all adoptable pets and needs community support to find homes as well as to help decrease pet overpopulation. CRHS cares for approximately 3,000 domestic animals and assists 1,000 wild animals annually.
