LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Hintgen Elementary Principal Mark White is named as the upcoming head of a national organization of school principals.
The La Crosse School District announced Friday that White was elected as president of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. The election means White will serve first as President-elect during the 2013-14 school year, then become President of the NAESP for the 2014-15 school year.
White was named Principal of Hintgen Elementary in 1990. He was originally hired by the district as a teacher at Longfellow Middle School in 1984. From 1988 to 1990, he was principal of the Alma Center Elementary School before returning to La Crosse.
The association, founded in 1921, is a professional organization for more than 25,000 elementary and middle school principals in the United States, Canada, and overseas.
