Green Bay, WISCONSIN Alex Green might be the most eager of the three current Packers on the tailgate tour to re-introduce himself to fans around the state.
The 3rd year running back nearly turned into an afterthought after the Packers drafted two high profile backs last month.
Green was the Packers leading rusher last year, but with just a paltry 464 yards.
He was coming off an ACL injury from his rookie season and looked good early.
But the knee acted up late in the season and he missed the last 4 games.
Now, rookies Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin have arrived to jump start the run game.
"Definitely increased competition. That's going to be a good thing for us though. Good thing for the locker room, good thing for the running back core as a group, I'm looking forward to the competition and training camp. The knee is doing a lot better. You know, I didn't realize how much better it is this year until I started running this year. Last year it got pretty (inaudible to me) during the season. One of those things where you come out of injury, you know, things are going to happen. I had a couple of setbacks last year, but I'm ready to move forward from that and continue to work harder and get better," Green said before leaving on the teams annual tailgate tour.
