Collector cars valued at $73,000 stolen and sold as scrap

Rusk County (WQOW) - Some valuable collector cars are stolen in Rusk County and police say the thieves sold them to a scrapyard for pennies on the dollar.

Four vehicles, including a 1980 Camaro and a 1971 Mustang were valued at about $73,000.

But Rusk County detectives say the vehicles were sold to scrapyards for about $1,000.

Michael Rousseau and Patrick Valencia are charged in the thefts, which happened last July.   Investigators say the men blamed each other for coming up with the idea to take the vehicles.
