Storm winds cause power outages, downed trees

MADISON (WKOW) -- A spring storm is traveling through Wisconsin on Sunday, with high winds causing power outages throughout the southern portion of the state.

27 News has received several reports of trees and power lines down in several areas, including Mazomanie. Hail has been reported in the Madison area.

Madison Gas & Electric reports 26 customers are without power in the near-downtown Madison area, as of about 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Crews are on scene working to restore power.

Alliant Energy reports that more than 1,500 customers are without power in Walworth County, 40 in Dane County and 65 in Iowa County. Most of those outages have been restored, except in Walworth County.
