La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) It was a good day to be a number one seed in the WIAA Softball Regionals.
Onalaska Luther won an epic battle with rival Arcadia 9-8 to win their division 3 regional.
Arcadia built an 8-0 lead only to see it evaporate over the final three innings.
Mariah Schultz had a two-run home run to start the comeback.
Arcadia still led 8-4 entering the bottom of the 7th but Eliza Dobbe drilled a two-run single to cut the lead to 8-7.
Then with two runners on and two outs Miriam Beagle lofted a fly ball to left that was misplayed allowing the tying and winning runs to score.
Luther ended the regular season as the top-ranked team in the state in division 3.
They will play Mineral Point next.
Central took down DeForest 10-2 at the Shelby Fields.
The Red Raiders scored 9 runs in the second inning.
Kelsey Rox had two doubles and 2 runs batted in.
Topanga Skiles struck out 8 and walked none to pick up the win.
Central will play top-seeded Sun Prairie next Tuesday.
