LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Students in the La Crosse School District's High Performance Learning Program will be receiving a new set of materials to maintain their high level of learning.
Kim Novak received $300 as part of the Tools for Schools Award from WXOW and SSE Music. The award will be used to purchase textbooks to challenge HPL students at ten elementary schools and three middle schools in La Crosse.
"Currently the books that we have been using with common core coming about everything has been increased, the rigor across the board in all grade levels and so now we're able to take and purchase new books that are age appropriate for our kids but have increased the rigor for them, are more challenging for them but again are age appropriate," says Novak.
