Hello, my name is Kristi Kroker and I am one of the new quinterns at WXOW. I am a rising junior at St. Olaf College and am majoring in English with a concentration in Media Studies. As a La Crosse native, I have grown up watching WXOW and am ecstatic to have the opportunity to learn from the program and people.
As an aspiring writer, I was looking for a job that would allow me to utilize my passion of writing while broadening and perhaps sparking new interests. Throughout the Quinternship I hope to expand my knowledge on the editing process and story development behind the news. I also hope to be able to engage more with the surrounding communities.
When I am not attending classes, you will find me on the tennis court or singing. At St. Olaf I participate in the Women's collegiate Tennis team and am part of a student organized female A cappella group. As well as this, I volunteer for the Head Start program where I interact with children who do not know English and need educational and social support before they attend kindergarten. I love working and communicating with people. I believe that we can all learn from others experiences.
It is my hope that I will be able to gain insight from those at WXOW news during my Quinternship. I am honored to be a part of WXOW and am grateful for an opportunity that will help me learn new skills and be involved with the community.
If you would like to share story ideas with Kristi, you can contact her at email@example.com
