WESTMORELAND, Jamaica (KTTC) -- A native of Harmony, Minn. has been killed by gunfire in Jamaica.
52-year-old David Barnes owned Cost Cutters salons in Kenosha, Racine and two other Wisconsin towns.
Family members tell us he was originally from Harmony, and that David was visiting family friends in Jamaica.
The Cost Cutters regional office says he was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in western Jamaica on Saturday.
Police had apparently confronted gunmen who were trying to commit a robbery.
U.S. Embassy officials are awaiting an official report from Jamaican authorities.
David Barnes' family says he was a kind and loving man who was active in the Boys and Girls Club.
