LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- Home is where the wins are for the Loggers. At least it has been through their first four games at Copeland Park this year.
Entering Monday, La Crosse had a .750 win percent at home, which bodes well as a six game home stand continues through the week. First, the Loggers had to deal with the struggling Eau Claire Express.
Eau Claire, however, scored first in the first inning. Daniel Kihle's sacrifice plated Charlie White and gave the Express a 1-0 lead.
It remained that way until the third inning. The Loggers scored twice in the third; Michael Katz came up with the go-ahead base-hit RBI to give La Crosse a 2-1 advantage.
Bobby Juan added insurance for the Loggers in the fifth. Juan finished the day with two hits and two RBI, the latter coming on a home run in the fifth. La Crosse would lead 7-1 into the sixth.
Eau Claire scored six runs in the sixth to even the score, but Brandon DeFazio drove in the go-ahead RBI in the seventh, putting the Loggers back on top once again. La Crosse went on to win 10-7. They improve to 8-5 on the season, while Eau Claire falls to 3-9 with the loss.
