La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The transition period is over for most of the Loggers now that they're more than two weeks into the season.
But players are always evolving.
Take Troy Traxler for example.
The Loggers catcher and La Crescent native is off to a slow start at the plate in his first Northwoods League season.
But the process of getting to know new teammates and a new pitching staff has been enjoyable.
"As a catcher, being around different pitchers and their pitches and movements, it's a little bit of an adjustment right away. The more you catch them the easier it becomes because you figure out tendencies. You figure out their movements. Looking back when I was a kid and coming to games and shagging foul balls and now here I am between the lines, hitting those foul balls. It's kind of fun just looking back on it," Traxler said.
Traxler was red-shirted his freshman season at the University of Minnesota this past spring.
