LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – S&S Cycle in Viola, Wis. is celebrating 55 years in business at the South Side Fest Grounds this weekend.
The company makes engine components for motorcycles.
In the last year, S&S donated an engine and a motorcycle frame to four high schools and one tech school across the U.S. that have motorcycle building classes.
Those bikes were on display this weekend.
Students from a motorcycle fabrication class at La Crescent High School made one of the motorcycles on the grounds.
"Just knowing that we got to put something like this together, it's not -- a lot of kids aren't gonna get the opportunity who want the opportunity to build something like this. It feels pretty good to have something like this built, said La Crescent student Hunter Frick.
Frick and his peers worked on the bike at least twice a week after school during spring semester.
