LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The show must go on for the top fifty competitors after a grueling two days to start the Bassmaster Elite Mississippi River Rumble.
Those who made the cut had more work ahead, aiming for a top 12 spot to stick around for Sunday.
Brandon card has been a model of consistency so far. His day three total of 14 lb. 6 oz. puts Card in 4th place after Saturday.
That's two spots behind Tommy Biffle. The Oklahoman has improved his totals every day, including Saturday's 17 lb. 5 oz. bag. It slotted Biffle comfortably into second place. John Crews sits in third.
Both stand behind Aaron Martens heading into Sunday. Martens, after a day three catch of 16-5, set the top total mark at 47 lb. 12 oz. He also hauled in the day's biggest catch at 4-15.
"I kind of figured the fish, when I caught them and when I looked at them in my bag, I figured that's about what I had," said Martens. "I was within a couple of ounces. You always wish for 16-9, 17 maybe sometimes. I was happy with the number."
The top 12 head out at 6:20 Sunday morning. The final weigh in starts at 3:15 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on French Island.
