LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A new study lists the La Crosse/Onalaska area as one of the smartest in the nation.
Luminosity, a San-Francisco based company that creates brain training exercises and collected cognitive performance data, has released a list of the top 100 cities.
They used games to measure five different areas such as memory and problem solving. Luminosity took the results to compile the list.
La Crosse/Onalaska ranked 36th on the list. In all, ten Wisconsin cities made the top 100.
Madison was the highest ranked in Wisconsin at number 8. Other cities include Appleton (12), Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis (26), Stevens Point(40), Sheboygan (48), Oshkosh (51), Fond du Lac (54), Superior/Duluth (69), and Eau Claire (92).
The smartest city in the country is Ithaca, New York, home to Cornell and Ithaca Colleges.
