LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Fifty years of marriage is a milestone. Sunday, the Catholic Diocese of La Crosse honored those who achieved it.
The diocese held a jubilee mass recognizing 329 couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
The masses took place in Plover, Altoona, and at the Holy Cross Diocesan Center in La Crosse.
Bishop Callahan led the La Crosse service.
News 19 asked one couple what the secret to a lasting marriage is.
"I just did everything that she put on her list every day for me, and kept her happy, and that's the way it worked," said David Reinder.
"It's great. It gets better every day. It's just fantastic. I got lucky," said Mary Jo Reinder.
