WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A big win for the La Crosse Loggers as they battle for the Southern Division lead in the Northwoods League.
The Loggers got a three run home run from Michael Katz in the top of the first as they beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 8-4 Monday night. Despite giving up two runs in the bottom of the first to the Rafters, the Loggers never surrendered the lead throughout the game.
They added one in the fourth, two in the sixth, and two more in the seventh in route to the win.
Pitcher Josh Frye went six innings for La Crosse. Following the two runs in the first, he shut the Rafters down. His final line was two runs on seven hits, two walks, and seven strikeouts.
