Wisconsin farmer at center of raw milk issue plans to appeal

SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) -- A Wisconsin farmer at the center of the controversial raw milk issue plans to appeal his recent conviction.

Vernon Hershberger was found not guilty of selling raw milk without proper licenses, but guilty of violating a food holding order. The case out of Sauk County gained national attention.

Wednesday morning attorneys representing Hershberger said they plan to appeal the verdict. They were hired by the Farm-To-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. The deadline for an appeal is today.
