Man caught with counterfeit money sentenced to jail

LAKE HALLIE (WQOW) - A man accused of trying to return a printer to an area store with counterfeit money found inside the printer will spend four months in jail.

Jarad Carr, from Fond Du Lac, was sentenced this week in Chippewa County. Lake Hallie Police say in March, Carr tried to return the printer at Walmart, even though he didn't have a receipt. As store employees checked the printer they found two counterfeit hundred dollar bills.

Police say Carr still insisted on returning the printer, and even struggled with officers when they arrived. Carr is still facing charges in another case in Hudson. He's accused along with several other men of breaking into a man's home, holding him at gunpoint, and stealing 35 thousand dollars from his safe.
