LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The Loggers finished up a two-game series with Wisconsin Rapids with a pair of wins to start the second half of the season.
La Crosse struck first on Friday night. Johnny Bekakis hit a line drive base hit to the right-center gap scoring the run from first. That was part of a four run 1st for the Loggers.
In the top of the 2nd, Chris Keck came up with one of the better defensive plays on the night. Keck made a diving stab at third to rob Jeremy Montalbano of a possible base hit to protect the lead.
The hometown hero, Bobby Juan, got into the act in the 5th. Juan picked up a handful of RBI on a blast off the wall. Juan then padded the stats, belting a three-run home run. Juan finished with two hits and six total RBI on the night.
The Loggers made it a clean sweep of the Rafters with the 12-6 win. La Crosse improved to 2-0 on the 2nd half of the season.
