La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The Loggers run for a 2nd half South Division title is becoming a little more complicated.
The team sent home three players for violating team rules and lost another to the minor leagues.
Pitchers Collin Lee and Craig Caufield along with catcher Max McDowell were released for rules violations.
The good news is that pitcher Jonathan Van Eaton signed with the Los Angeles Angels organization.
The moves have left the Loggers looking for replacements and has left the team without a key starter and their closer in the bullpen.
"We addressed the team before we boarded the bus for Lakeshore, where we're currently at, gave an update on what had happened. But also, this doesn't change anything. The daily approach stays the same. The goals are still the same, to get better each and every day and to get better as a team," said Loggers General Manager Chris Goodell.
Goodell said he hopes to have some new additions within a week.
