LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- It's safe to say the Loggers have Eau Claire's number, and that number is one.
La Crosse suffered just one loss to the Express all season entering Thursday night and just one loss in all of 2012. The Loggers rode a four-game winning streak over Eau Claire into game two of a three-game set.
Kevin Zak got the scoring started in the bottom of the first. Zak drilled an RBI single to center field. La Crosse added one more that inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Express cut the deficit in half in the second inning. Greg Harisis poked a base hit to right field. The run scored from second, but the Loggers maintained a 2-1 advantage.
They got the run back and then some in the bottom of the second. Zak hit a two-out, three-run home run to center making it a 6-1 game at that point. Nick Day added another homer the very next inning, and Michael Katz hit his second long-ball in as many nights in the sixth.
The Loggers finished with a 16-1 victory. They improve to 8-7 on the second half of the season and 17-2 over Eau Claire since the start of 2012.
