Lake Tahoe, CALIFORNIA The combination of A.J. Hawk and Brad Jones at the inside linebacker spots was enough for the Packers to send Desmond Bishop packing and to give Jones a raise.
Hawk thinks it's money well spent.
The Packers linebacker is in Lake Tahoe this weekend at a celebrity golf event.
Jones replaced Bishop and D.J. Smith when they went down with injuries and turned in a solid season.
He started ten games, which was enough to convince management he should be the full-time starter for this upcoming season.
"Brad's awesome. Everything about Brad as a player he's proven over the years, especially last year just how great a player he is. He's a lot of fun on the field and off the field and works really hard. I think we have great chemistry together. He has great command of the defense and it's fun playing next to a guy like that," Hawk said.
The Packers report to training camp next week Thursday.
