Onalaska, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The Coulee Region Chill is closing in on their final roster for the upcoming season.
They are in the middle of a 4-day tryout camp at the Omni Center.
Chill head coach A.J. Degenhardt and his staff are evaluating over 100 players, including some returnees from last year.
The roster may include some local talent.
Jesse Tredinnick is back.
And former Onalaska star Gabe Flood is also competing for a roster spot.
Flood finished 9th in the state in goals scored last season and scored 66 goals in his final two high school season.
"Having so much support in the local area, knowing a lot of people and being a role model for kids in the area is pretty cool too. Having little kids ask you for autograph and stuff, it's humbling but it's fun," Flood said.
"Obviously it's fun having some local kids, myself being back in the area. It's good to see local talent having success as this level. It's a big part of this team and they're a big part of the community. It's something the youth hockey players in the area can look up too," said Degenhardt.
The Chill will conclude their tryout camp with an all-star game Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at the Omni Center.
