WAUSAU (WKOW) -- Two aspiring restaurant owners from Whitewater have won their own store, after competing on a national reality TV show.
The Food Network's "Food Court Wars' taped an episode in Wausau back in April. Two teams competed for a spot in the food court at Wausau Center Mall.
Sunday night, the show aired and it was revealed that Tyler Sailsbery and Sarah Smith of Whitewater won.
"I hadn't told anybody because I thought this was a one in a million shot," says Sailsbery.
The couple they competed against is from Wausau.
"There were stages of excitement and, oh my goodness, they're here, and worry and defiance," says Smith.
Sailsbery and Smith's restaurant Casual Joe's won after a few long days of competing and cooking. They'll celebrate a grand opening of the Wisconsin-style comfort food restaurant on Monday.
Sailsbery plans to stay in Whitewater where he runs another restaurant. Both say appearing on the Food Network changed their lives forever.
