MANKATO, Minnesota (WXOW) -- The Vikings reported to training camp Thursday, and they do so with fresh contracts for all three of their first round picks.
Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes and Cordarrelle Patterson will all be at the first practice on Friday--so too will veterans like Chistian Ponder. Friday however, won't be Ponder's first reps since OTAs.
The Vikings' third year QB spent some time recently working with Minnesota tight-end Kyle Rudolph and Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald. Ponder said the conditioning certainly helped, but he's eager to work with a full squad.
"I'm definitely ready," he added. "Especially going to the ESPY's and seeing all those highlights of other teams and seeing Adrian out there. I'm just ready to get back to work on the football field and have a great season."
Meanwhile, Rudolph expects big things from his quarterback.
"He's definitely more comfortable," said Rudolph. "I think that comes with just being in the system over time, being around guys, being around coaches. Once you're comfortable with the Xs and Os, you can kind of relax a little bit and get a feel for the guys around you."
The Vikings kick things off with a walk through Friday morning at 10:30.
