Authorities asking for help solving Viroqua vandalism cases

VIROQUA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Authorities are looking for help to solve three acts of vandalism in the Viroqua area.

Damage was done to two American Flags in Viroqua in separate locations.

Two of the acts of vandalism happened between June, 27 at 8:00 PM and June, 28 at 7:30 AM.

Someone stole a 5' by 8'' American flag at the Viroqua Cemetery. The other flag was found upside down on a pole with spray-paint on it at the National Guard Armory.

Another act of vandalism occurred in the evening of July, 4 or morning of July, 5. The word "abortion" was spray painted in white, causing the words to be covered up. The vandals then spray painted a yellow M, making it to look like the McDonalds "golden arches."

If anyone knows anything about these cases, please contact Vernon County Crime Stoppers at 608-637- 8477 or visit their web site at

Callers will remain confidential and may be eligible for cash rewards up to $1,000.
